Challenges of Canada's Mining Industry
Canada's mining industry is one of the main pollution problems in North America. We produce more of the pollutants that cause Acid
Precipitation than the United States. In the last 20 years we have spent 1 billion dollars trying to control the pollutants let out by mining. Also,
many devastating events have been occurring in Canada's top mineral trading country's like Japan, China, and Taiwan. Since these country's
are so key to Canada's mining industry the result is a decline in the demand for Canadian minerals. Finally, one of the main challenges
Canada's mining industry faces is foreign competition. Many developing country's in Asia and Africa are discovering mineral deposits and are
selling they're products for a much cheaper cost because of they're lower labour cost and more places are buying from them than Canada
because of the lower cost.
